Elizabeth Rushton Celebrates Her 80th

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 23, many of us gathered in our parish hall to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of our parish’s most long-time members, Elizabeth Rushton.

During the two hours of celebrations, Elizabeth was joined by her husband John; daughters Beverley, Carol, and Judith (who came from Adelaide, Australia); a couple of sons-in-law; three grandchildren; and dozens of friends and other family. Elizabeth was serenaded by the crowd in a rewritten song, penned by Fred Bryant of the Rexboro parish of St. Aidan’s and St. Hilda’s, sung to the tune of “McNamara’s Band.”

Photos (thanks to Paula Dunbar) of the event can be viewed here.
