On the evening of Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 7:30pm, St. Augustine’s – Parkland Anglican Church is once again mounting a performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
Presented as spoken word in five staves by five volunteer speakers from CBC Radio Edmonton, this production enthralled our near-sellout audience at last year’s inaugural event. This year, we’ll use the same script — but have added many sound effects throughout the production to give it an even more realistic feel!
Our MC and readers from CBC this year are:
- Adrienne Lamb
- Adrienne Pan
- Rod Kurtz
- Lydia Neufeld
- Don Bell
- Nancy Carlson
Joining the CBC crew and providing some musical entertainment between staves will be: Tag Along, The Parkland Bells of St. Andrew’s United Church, Lorne Manweiler, and the musical duo of Bill Werthmann and Ian Bowden.
Tickets might be available at the door if there are any left. People wanting to be assured of a seat should purchase a ticket prior to the event from a member of the congregation, or more easily online at YEGLive. The ticket price is $30 and includes a festive drink and dessert at intermission. Some interesting and high-quality BC wine — for those wanting to imbibe — will also be available at $10/glass.
Our “proceeds partner” this year is Auggié’s Cafe.
If you’re able to put up a letter-sized poster, here’s a link to download one.
