Adventure Centre is our children's program that runs during our Sunday morning worship. Kids aged 4-11 gather in the hall to sing songs, hear a Bible story, and have fun completing an activity or playing a game. The kids join in the worship before we receive the bread and the wine, so that families can participate in the communion part of our service together. Adventure Centre takes place during the first 45 minutes of the worship service. We have a roster of about 20 teachers and helpers, and use the One Room Schoolhouse curriculum. It's a ton of fun, and all kids are welcome! |

Welcome to the St Augustine's Kid's Page! This page will feature stories, games, activities, and even a recipe or two! We hope that you enjoy checking back for more fun stuff to do and talk about..... Here's a story for you. It's an excerpt from The Big Picture Bible, by David Helm. The Bible is God's story, and it begins with these big words: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth". Do you know how God created everything? Simply by speaking words. Imagine, making the world with words! Strong words. Powerful words. With words, God created everything! He made the stars, the sun and the moon. He made the animals, the fish, the trees, and flowers too Everything! And then after all these things, God created....people! God put his people in the Garden of Eden. They were made in the image of God. They were to be the rulers of God's place. Adam and Eve were very special to God. Did you know that you are also very special to God? You are special because you were made in his image too! Go outside and find some leaves, bugs, flowers, or anything that catches your attention that comes from the earth. Do you see how much detail is on these little things that God has created? Neat, eh? Here's a fun activity. You'll need some leaves, some paper, and some crayons. Place the leaves in under the paper, and rub the long edge of the crayon over the paper where the leaves are placed underneath. You'll get an impression of the leaf on your paper! Can you think of some neat pictures to make using this technique? Here are some little pictures of things that God has made. Can you identify them? Have a grown up print off this page, and cut out the little green pictures. Cut out the tree, and glue it on to a peice of fresh paper. Then glue on the little pictures on or around the tree, and name them. Why do you think that God created each of them? Can you think about what good things each of these parts of creation provides for us?
